Homeless part 2 (a.k.a. Broke)

After a brief struggle (that lasted for 10 days) to find a place to live, I finally did it!
I am the happy tenant of a 2 bedroom condo. It's 20 minutes away from my office, which is a plus, as I was sick and tired of commuting for 2 or more hours daily, back and forth...

Anyway, I moved in and started to look around the house... I realized that I need tons of things, to make my life easier. But, I guess I'll have to do it all in time, as I am now officially B-R-O-K-E!

Note to self: putting together a to-do/to-buy list gives me a big headache.

I also realized that finding a "roomie" is a must, so I started asking around. After interviewing a few colleagues at work and some friends, I got somewhat angry because everybody told me that they were interested, but in the end, all turned down my offer.
The last option was to call my best friend and ask him to move in, as I knew that he wanted it too, but he couldn't afford to split the rent. So we reached a gentleman's agreement: he'll start with a small rent and we'll increase it gradually, as he starts to earn more money. It's a win-win situation, even if I'll be a bit on the down side with the money in the first couple of months. But, hey, something is better than nothing! (that's what my grandma used to say all the time)

That being settled, the only thing that keeps my headache around is the fact that I still don't know what to do with my ex-girlfriend... It'll be a heck of a weekend!

Homeless

Usually, no news is good news. Usually, this is true. However, my life nothing but usual.

Every fall, in mid September, I have a talk with some "influential" people from the housing comitee, to get a spot in my college's campus hostels. For the last three years, everything went almost according to my plans and I was somewhat pleased. This year, all hell broke loose and even with tons of money (I'm not kidding) nothing could be arranged. The result? I ended up homeless!

Given the situation (no formal eviction notice), I was forced to move out of my room over-night. This being said, after about 2 hours on the phone with pretty much everybody that I hoped could help me, I was able to move at some friend of mine (even if it's temporary, a roof over my head is much appreciated at the moment) and all my things were hauled to another friends apartment a few miles away...

So... now I trying to find an apartment to rent, but with the current prices, it might take a week or two. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the boschetar life :)

Big City Life

In my last post, I was talking about life and living in a small city/town.
Of course, there had to be a sequel.

Where should I begin...

It's just so f**ked-up, waking up every morning with a head-ache, because you have realized over-night - in your sleep - that you have to do this-and-that and you won't have the time or means.
Hey, but you've been through all this before and you're still alive -- for now.

So, you go on. You get something to eat. You might call it breakfast. Stop kidding yourself, it's not breakfast, it's some snack/junk food that you keep around.

The big moment has arrived. You're leaving the house. Two minutes later, you see it. Madness, chaos. A sea of people, cars and then more people. Most of them see each other and pass each other every day. Do they stop to say something? No. Never. They just don't care.

You get to work. Finally. Salvation at last. Is it? Neah, it would have been too easy... Were you expecting peace and quiet? Wake up, you're not the star of this movie; you're just the boy/girl that's sitting in a corner, being ignored. And you say to yourself: "It will all change, someday". Perhaps, it will. But until then, this is your life and you have to deal with it.

[Please, remind me, why am I telling you this? Oh, I forgot... Beacuse this isn't just my imagination. It's happening to you, too.]

Hey, you know what? Let's skip the job part. Done.
You get home. By now, it's 7-8 in the evening (if you're lucky). You must be hungry. Late lunch (or, rather, dinner) anyone? By the time you finish eating, you're completely relaxed and probably, the TV just happened to turn itself on. What to do? Stay home and watch a crappy movie or go out with some friends? (You have friends? Wow! 5, 10, more than 20?)

What a shock... You went out.
You find a nice, quite place, where you can spend a couple of hours with your dear friends. You say to yourself: "Now, that's more like it. Finally, a fair ending for this day." But, guess what? All your friends are talking about their jobs and shitty lives and having no spare time and the f**ed-up big-city-life...

End of story. Period.

It might seem to you, that I'm too frustrated about my life. That may be true. But, at least, I'm not afraid to admit it!

Small City Life

I went home last week-end. I just felt the need for some time away from all this run-around, that comes with living in a big city. I didn't think it over; just packed my bags and took the first train...

I had time to spend with my closest friends, chatting about all the small things and time seemed to stay still, like it usually seems in a small town, like Braila.

But, to be truthfull, it all really was about seeing Veronica. And when you're with the person you love, time is always againts you... As usual, we tried to do so many things together and managed to do so little... We were prepared to go on a picnic; it rained. We walked in the park, but the wind sent us home quickly. In the end, we had a few moments of peace, that both of us are waiting for, every other week-end.
It's hard being so far away from her, but then again, I'm a fighter and I won't let go easily!
